Areas we serve

Serving Rockford & nearby communities.

Locally known as Northern Prosthetics, our Rockford clinic on Charles Street brings advanced prosthetic and orthotic care to northern Illinois — so patients don’t have to drive to Chicago for a modern fitting. We regularly care for patients from Rockford, Loves Park, Machesney Park, Belvidere, Roscoe, Rockton, Cherry Valley, and Winnebago County.

Insurance & benefits

We’ll verify your coverage first.

We work with Medicare, Illinois Medicaid (HFS), and most major commercial plans, plus workers’ compensation and VA referrals. Before your first visit we verify your benefits and explain any out-of-pocket cost — clearly, and up front. See our cost & insurance guide for details.

Your first visit

What to expect at Rockford.

Your first appointment is a free consultation — no referral required to start. We listen to your goals, examine your residual limb or the area we’re bracing, and talk through realistic options before any device is made. If you decide to move forward, we capture a cast or 3D scan, fit a test socket or brace, fine-tune the alignment, and follow up to keep the fit comfortable as your body changes.

FAQ

Questions Rockford patients ask.

Is the Rockford clinic the same as Northern Prosthetics?
Yes. Our Rockford clinic on Charles St is locally known as Northern Prosthetics and is part of the Quantum family — the same clinicians, technology, and comfort-first approach.
What areas does the Rockford clinic serve?
We serve Rockford, Loves Park, Machesney Park, Belvidere, Roscoe, Rockton, Cherry Valley, and the wider Winnebago County area of northern Illinois.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
Many insurers, including Medicare, ask for a prescription from your physician before a prosthesis or custom orthosis. We’ll help coordinate that paperwork — and you’re welcome to book a free consultation first to talk through your options.
What insurance do you accept?
We work with Medicare, Illinois Medicaid (HFS), and most major commercial plans, along with workers’ compensation and VA referrals. We verify your benefits and explain any out-of-pocket cost before your first visit — no surprises.
How long does it take to get my device?
After your evaluation and casting or 3D scan, most prostheses and custom orthoses are ready for an initial fitting within about two to four weeks, depending on the device and insurance authorization.
Do you make pediatric devices?
Yes — we provide pediatric prosthetics and orthotics and adjust them as a child grows, so the fit keeps pace with them.
